Enhanced Online Security

First National Bank is proud to deliver the highest level of security for our Online Banking customers. An additional layer of security has been added to our log on process. This will help ensure that your information is secure, protecting you from fraud and identity theft. This enhanced security is called Multifactor Authentication.

Multifactor Authentication

  • Every customer will have a private image and security pass phrase.
  • Every time you log in to Online Banking the bank identifies you, and it lets you identify the bank using your private image and pass phrase.
  • The result is peace of mind that you are on the authentic First National Bank online banking website.

Here’s how it works…

  • Log in to Online Banking using your current Access ID, click SUBMIT.
  • Enter your current Password, click SUBMIT.
  • At the enrollment page you will be asked to:
    • Enter your e-mail address. If you do not have an email address please contact the bank for assistance.
    • Create a short phrase (referred to as pass phrase) for the randomly selected authentication image. The phrase you enter can be any words you choose. As an example, if your random image is a picture of a flower your phrase might be Looks Pretty.
    • Select and answer 3 challenge questions. There are several questions to choose from. Use the drop down arrows to view other questions.
    • Select personal or public computer. (Note: Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use.)
    • Click SUBMIT

That’s it. The next time you log in our Online Banking system will recognize you and display an authentication image and phrase. If they match your private image and pass phrase, then enter your Password and click SUBMIT. If they do not match, do not enter your password. Start over or contact the bank for assistance.

Follow these steps when logging in from computers other than the one(s) you have registered.

  • Log in to Online Banking using your current Access ID, click SUBMIT.
  • Answer the Security Challenge Question, and select personal or public computer. (Note: Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use.) Click SUBMIT
  • An authentication image and phrase will be displayed. If they match your private image and pass phrase, then enter your Password and click SUBMIT. If they do not match, do not enter your password. Start over or contact the bank for assistance.

Changing your authentication image, phrase and/or challenge questions. Once logged in, you can make these changes by selecting the Options tab then click on Change Security Data. Phrases and challenge questions can be changed on this page. To change the image click on Change Image found under your current authentication image. This will access the image library, which contains approximately 45,000 images. Because there are so many different choices, you may want the system to remember some of these until you have found just the right image. If so, click the Remember Image box. Once you have decided on an image, just click on it.
